Though I didn’t experience much of this on television when I was in Tokyo last summer, I’m a fan of these types of shows simply because, in person, the Japanese are much more subdued. The contestants in these shows - I don’t know where they come from. I think it’s like a Jekyll and Hyde sort of thing going on there: all straight-faced business aura during the day, and then at night the gloves come off and they go bananas.

This game show, known as something like “Human Treadmill Challenge” is spectacular.

Seems like years ago that I was first introduced to the Fensler G.I. Joe Public Service Announcements. If you recall your G.I. Joe watching days, you’ll remember these short segments at the end of the show that covered things like not touching live electric wires and how to not drown and die if you fell into water.

Well, the guy who runs Fensler took them and made them… better… odder… perfect. On a drunken hungover morning with friends a few years back I even puked simply because of watching this one for the first time.
